Capitol Park Sombor marks first anniversary and announces 2019 expansion

Capitol Park Sombor, the city’s first retail park, today marked its first anniversary. Several thousand people attended celebrations at the shopping complex on Strosmajerova 28.  Over the 12 months since opening, Capitol Park has established itself as a new shopping and entertainment centre in Sombor that also attracts residents from surrounding municipalities. Special anniversary offers were available in stores, and from 19.00h popular teenage pop singer Sara Jovanovic held a live performance.

Poseidon Group is the investor and operator of the Capitol Park brand in Serbia.  Its corporate affairs director James Gunn expressed great satisfaction with the first year of business in Sombor: “Residents from the city and surrounding towns have made Capitol Park what it is today. We are pleased to provide greater consumer choice and wider family entertainment. We are looking forward to expansion of the retail park and bringing more diverse brands to complement our mix of tenants.”

Capitol Park Sombor is Poseidon Group’s second retail park project to open in Serbia. Capitol Park Rakovica in Belgrade opened shortly after. Construction of new retail parks in Leskovac and Zajecar will see openings in spring 2019 working towards a 10-strong portfolio nationwide by end-2020.
